Spring ’23 releases in Bridgit Bench

TL-DR: Bridgit Bench adds a new Preconstruction Module for precon people planning and has made Project Broadcasts available from the Bench Mobile Application.

Rather than pumping the brakes after an action-packed winter with some pretty major updates to Bridgit Bench (see them here), we decided to use that momentum to add a few new bells, a few new whistles, and an entirely new Module this spring. Here’s what you may have missed over the last three months in Bench.

The Preconstruction Module

You read that right. This spring we added an entirely new section to every project in Bench specifically for planning preconstruction teams. With the new Precon Module in Bridgit Bench, you can quickly create custom tasks for every precon requirement and easily assign team members with a flick of the wrist by dragging them from a list of available people and dropping them right onto a task.

Tasks and assignments will be displayed on Project and People Gantt views so your precon managers and estimators have clear visibility of what’s being worked on, when it’ll be done, and who’s responsible for the deliverable.

The best part? Any assignments made in the Precon Module will impact utilization rates, even if the project is still in pursuit. That way, operations can still pencil in the construction team, but your precon team can be getting work done with a clear understanding of their own capacity and availability.

*The Preconstruction Module in Bridgit Bench is a paid feature set. If you’re interested in getting your precon team out of spreadsheets and consolidating precon people planning into Bridgit Bench, reach out to your account manager for more details.

Send communications right from the Bridgit Bench Mobile App

You might already be familiar with Project Broadcast and Assignment Alerts in Bridgit Bench and have been looking to send these communications from your Bench Mobile App. Well, I’ve got great news. Now, right from your phone or tablet, you can keep your team up to date about their assignments and communicate quickly (and at scale) with project teams using Project Broadcast and Assignment Alerts on iOS and Android.

Here’s a quick run-through of how to send these new communication options on Bench Mobile.

That’s a wrap on all the major releases over the spring months. We hope you have a safe and productive summer.
