Available now: Forecasting Dashboard

TL:DR – Bridgit Bench has released a new Forecasting Dashboard. The first report will focus on workforce utilization and provide operations with an overview of their average and true utilization rates up to 5 years ahead.

American inventor C.F. Kettering put it best when he said “My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there.” The same applies for the construction industry. While it’s important for project teams to be fully engaged with the work at hand, it’s equally, if not more important for operations teams to be forward-looking for effective workforce and capacity planning into the months and years ahead.

With that in mind, the team at Bridgit is proud to release our new premium module in beta– the Forecasting Dashboard.

The initial Forecasting Dashboard will focus on workforce utilization to help optimize capacity planning, make informed recruitment decisions, and provide clarity over the impact of future project bids. To provide accuracy and flexibility, utilization will be calculated in two different ways and will provide views for 6 months and 1-5 years ahead.

1. Average utilization rate

Your average utilization rate calculates the average of all individual allocation percentages over each month. This will help to understand how stretched your team is into the coming months/years.

2. True utilization rate

Your true utilization rate will cap all team member’s daily allocations at 100%. This highlights if your team has more capacity to take on more work in the coming months/years.

Users will be able to apply filters to narrow the focus of your utilization reports, and further compare the reports by any single-list selection people fields. For example, if you wanted to filter your utilization reports by region, and then further compare by title. Adversely, some users may want to filter their reports on title, and then compare region by region. The report comparisons help to highlight specific over and under allocations to optimize your capacity planning.
